Cyanotype: Where Art and Science Collide

Our students just experienced the magic of cyanotype photography at our recent workshop. This historic photographic process, dating back to the 19th century, allows us to create striking blueprints using nothing but sunlight, water, and a few simple chemicals. It's an alchemical dance between the elements - the sun's rays, the coated paper, and the chemical reactions that unfold. Each print is a unique work of art, a portrait of nature's own artistry. Beyond just a technical process, cyanotype invites us to engage with the natural world in a deeply creative way. We become collaborators with the sun, using its light to expose our designs and visions onto the paper. It's a humbling reminder of the beauty and power that exists all around us. This workshop was a chance for our students to tap into their innate creativity, to experiment, and to marvel at the intersection of art and science. The results are simply breathtaking - azure-hued masterpieces that celebrate the marriage of human imagination and natural phenomena.
